Sandra Slaton received her B.A. from the Honors College of Arizona
State University in 1977,
summa cum laude, where she was a member
of
Phi Beta Kappa.  Ms. Slaton received her J.D. Degree from Arizona
State University in 1980.   Throughout her career, Ms. Slaton has
represented clients in State and Federal Court, including the Ninth
Circuit and United States Supreme Court.  She has frequently litigated
high profile criminal, constitutional, and civil matters, often against the
biggest firms in the state, including the United States Justice
Department.   For example, Ms. Slaton has been defense counsel on
complex criminal matters such as rape, fraud, extortion, conspiracy,
drugs, and organized crime. She has litigated complex family law and
custody disputes, and has experience in interstate custody and juvenile
court litigation in relation to family law matters.   Ms. Slaton has also
been involved as both plaintiff's and defense counsel on federal
discrimination/harassment cases.  Ms. Slaton's cases have also
included complex civil matters, on both plaintiff and defense teams,
including multi-million dollar construction defect claims (defense),
malpractice professional claims representing governmental interests in
civil prosecutions against banks, accounting firms, and law firms, and
as defense/plaintiff's counsel in construction defect matters.    
Consistently through her career, Ms. Slaton has practiced on the
appellate level as well.  Whether in the trial court or on appeal, Ms.
Slaton is a litigator and aggressive advocate for her clients.  

Professional Activities and Affiliations:  Ms. Slaton serves as a
Municipal Court Judge for the Town of Paradise Valley, she is a certified
arbitrator for the NASD, and she is a hearing officer for the Supreme
Court of Arizona on lawyer disciplinary matters.  She is also sustaining
member of the Arizona Women Lawyers Association and a member of
the Scottsdale Rotary Club.  Ms. Slaton has lectured to lawyers on such
topics  as appellate practice, federal civil procedure and construction
law.
